with $16,500 Vacation Gift

May 19, 2010 - Redding, California. Jones Valley Resort/houseboats.com chose Troy and Charlie Burns to receive the $16,500 vacation giveaway on the Titan houseboat rental, the largest houseboat rental vessel in the country.

"We were pleased with the enthusiastic response, with almost 120 entries from all over California," said Mike Han, COO for houseboats.com. He added "selecting among them proved difficult as there were so many who deserve a break because of different challenges - from major illness to the challenges of one of the country's worst economic downturns." houseboats.com chose the Burns family for several reasons; not only do both Troy and Charlie give to the community (he as a volunteer firefighter and she as a 4H leader), they have also persevered through job cutbacks, all the while caring for ailing parents and their family that includes three teenagers. This, along with the recent passing of Charlie's father, led houseboats.com in selecting this deserving family, who reside near the city of Anderson and Shasta Lake. The Burns and their friends will enjoy a week of relaxation aboard the Titan; a time to bond and experience a level of 'getting away from it all' not found with other types of vacations.

The local community displayed genuine appreciation for the opportunity. Debbie Ashe of Cottonwood California commented "Thanks for the opportunity. This is an amazing gesture on your company's part."

Jones Valley Resort is pleased with the success of the giveaway. Dawn Eisen, who entered her daughter in the giveaway, says about the Burns "I have never seen a young couple work so well together to overcome obstacles and make happy memories at the same time."

Marina Reconfiguration Creates Expanded Venue for
Shasta Lake Boaters & Vacationers
Benefiting locals and destination travelers alike

February 3, 2010: Shasta Lake Resorts LP, within the authorization of the USDA Forest Service, has initiated a yearlong Master Development Planning process that proposes to permanently consolidate many of their services and facilities located at Lakeview and Sugarloaf marinas to Jones Valley Marina, Shasta Lake Resorts original premier marina acquired in 1989. Consolidation of the three resorts would allow Jones Valley Resort to increase its luxury houseboat rental operation and potentially expand the existing full service amenities. Up to 85 upscale houseboats will be available to rent year round, including the colossal 65 foot Titan, the largest rental vessel in the nation. This merger would also create approximately 300 slips for private vessel owners, including state-of-the-art concrete fingered houseboat moorage slips and covered small boat moorage slips.

While the planning process is underway, Lakeview Marina will be in non-operational status and Sugarloaf Marina will offer reduced marina services, including private moorage. Jones Valley Marina will be open and operating as usual with a full complement of quality services and facilities.
